In light of articles 13 and 17 of the Convention, the Committee is concerned that the quality and quantity of printed information, including children's books, available to children have decreased in recent years, while at the same time there is a lack of mechanisms to protect children from information and material injurious to their well-being.

149. Parliament is now considering bills on the protection of children against information harmful to their health and development and on amendments to certain legislative acts concerning protection of children from information harmful to their health and development.
149- وتوجد في مرحلة النظر أمام البرلمان في جمهورية كازاخستان مشروعاً قانونين بشأن " حماية الأطفال من المعلومات الضارة لصحتهم ونموهم " و " إدخال تعديلات وإضافات على بعض القوانين التشريعية فيما يتعلق بحماية الأطفال من المعلومات الضارة لصحتهم ونموهم " .

176. In 2012, a bill on the protection of children from information detrimental to their health and development was prepared, along with a bill on amendments to certain legislative acts concerning that topic.

As regards issues of access to appropriate information, CRC expressed concern about the exposure of children to violence, racism and pornography, especially through the Internet, and recommended the strengthening of measures for the protection of children from information and material injurious to their wellbeing.
