Ms. Fela Al-Rubaie (Iraq) said that the current session of the General Assembly, coinciding as it did with the Millennium Summit, was an appropriate forum in which to raise a particularly sensitive issue, namely, the fate of millions of children throughout the world who were suffering the consequences of armed conflict, disease, natural catastrophes, international economic sanctions and exploitation in all forms.
