One submission focused more on the effects of human activities on soil degradation and the field experience gained in the mitigation of these effects. And one submission focused on the effects of climatic variations on land degradation and how adaptation is interrelated with sustainable livelihood improvement and reduction in the vulnerability of the rural populations of the dryland areas.
