Contrary to what is provided in article 23, paragraph 2, of the Vienna Convention for reservations, an objection does not require formal confirmation by its author if it was made prior to the formal confirmation of the reservation, in accordance with article 23, paragraph 3 of the Vienna Convention, which states:
