(b) At the Durban Review Conference on Racism, held in Geneva from 20 to 24 April 2009, our representative submitted a paper on countering racism and the requirement for alternative education for diverse cultures;

أولاً - التصدي للعنصرية وكره الأجانب

In its conclusions from the seminar, the Working Group inter alia considered three directions of action that could be additionally instrumental in countering racism and xenophobia through means of law, namely, by:
وفي استنتاجاته المنبثقة عن الحلقة الدراسية، تناول الفريق العامل في جملة المسائل التي تناولها الإجراءات الثلاثة التالية التي يمكن أن تشكل أدوات إضافية مهمة في التصدي للعنصرية وكره الأجانب عن طريق القانون:

The Durban World Conference re-emphasized not only the importance of access to education without discrimination, but also the role of human rights education in countering racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance and promoting better understanding amongst all cultures and civilizations.
وأعاد مؤتمر دربان العالمي تأكيد أهمية الوصول إلى التعليم دون تمييز فضلاً عن دور التعليم في مجال حقوق الإنسان في التصدي للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، والتشجيع على تحسين التفاهم بين جميع الثقافات والحضارات.

Since countering racism and xenophobia exceeds the capacity of UNHCR alone, the Office cooperates, for example, with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and United Nations human rights mechanisms, as well as with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODHIR), to tackle these, and related human rights issues.
