The Assembly further underscored the need to combat defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred by harmonizing actions at the local, national, regional and international levels.

34. In view of the important developments that took place during the reporting period, the report takes stock of the ongoing conceptual debate on the issue of " defamation of religions " and incitement to religious hatred.
34 - ونظرا للتطورات الهامة التي جرت أثناء الفترة المشمولة بالتقرير، يقيِّم التقرير الحوار المفاهيمي الجاري بشأن مسألة " تشويه صورة الأديان " والتحريض على كراهية الأديان.

Noting with concern that the defamation of religions, and incitement to religious hatred in general, could lead to social disharmony and violations of human rights, and alarmed at the inaction of some States to combat this burgeoning trend and the resulting discriminatory practices against adherents of certain religions,
