15. As soon as the Convention against Torture was ratified and published in the Official Gazette, it became a part of Jordanian law and acquired the force of law. Hence, when a related matter is laid before them, the Jordanian courts must use the definition set out in article 1 of the Convention against Torture.

35. As soon as it was ratified and published in the Official Gazette, the Convention against Torture became part of Jordan's legal system and acquired the force of law. Hence, if a related case is laid before the domestic courts in Jordan, the definition set out in article 1 of the Convention against Torture is the one to which the courts must refer.
35- إن اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب أصبحت وبمجرد المصادقة عليها ونشرها في الجريدة الرسمية جزءاً من النظام القانوني الأردني تكتسب قوة القانون، وعلى ذلك فإنه إذا عرضت مسألة من هذا القبيل على القضاء الوطني، فان المحاكم الأردنية ملزمة بالرجوع إلى التعريف الوارد في المادة 1 من اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب.
