From 20 to 23 May 1997, the Special Rapporteur participated in the fourth meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures and advisory services programme, held in Geneva.

1. Annual meetings of special rapporteurs/representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and the Human Rights Council have been organized since 1994.
1- تُعقد منذ عام 1994 اجتماعات سنوية للمقررين/الممثلين الخاصين والخبراء ورؤساء الأفرقة العاملة في إطار الإجراءات الخاصة للجنة حقوق الإنسان ومجلس حقوق الإنسان.

The meeting was co-chaired by the Chairperson of the meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures and the Chairperson of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

The focal point would act as a clearing house, receiving information concerning all informal contacts that the special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups and the High Commissioner for Human Rights are having with a given Government about a possible visit.

74. The next meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme would take place at the United Nations Office at Geneva from 28 to 30 May 1996.

One of the major events in this regard was the meeting of special rapporteurs/ representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme of the Centre for Human Rights held from 30 May to 1 June 1994 in Geneva.

From 26 to 29 May 1998, the Special Rapporteur attended the fifth meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures and advisory services programme, held in Geneva.
6- وقد حضر المقرر الخاص، في الفترة من 26 إلى 29 أيار/مايو 1998، الاجتماع الخامس للمقررين/الممثلين الخاصين، وخبراء ورؤساء الأفرقة العاملة التابعة للإجراءات الخاصة وبرنامج الخدمات الاستشارية، الذي عُقد في جنيف.

11. On the afternoon of 2 June 1999, the chairpersons held a joint meeting with the participants of the sixth meeting of special rapporteurs and representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures system of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme.
11- وبعد ظهر يوم 2 حزيران/يونيه 1999، عقد رؤساء الهيئات اجتماعا مشتركا مع المشتركين في الاجتماع السادس للمقررين والممثلين الخاصين وخبراء ورؤساء الأفرقة العاملة في إطار نظام الإجراءات الخاصة التابع للجنة حقوق الإنسان وبرنامج الخدمات الاستشارية.

The proposals submitted by those bodies, by the meetings of chairpersons of those bodies and by the special rapporteurs, experts and chairpersons of working groups merited careful consideration by Member States.
ويتعين على الدول اﻷعضاء أن تدرس بأكبر ما يمكن من العناية الاقتراحات التي تقدمها هذه اﻷجهزة ورؤساؤها عندما يجتمعون فيما بينهم والاقتراحات التي يقدمها المقررون الخاصون والخبراء ورؤساء أفرقة العمل.

99. It was agreed that there is a need to update the Manual for Special Rapporteurs/ Representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the Special Procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the Advisory Services Programme, and the guidelines on the relationship between the special procedures and OHCHR.
99- وقد اتُّفق على ضرورة استكمال الدليل المعد للمقررين/الممثلين الخاصين/الخبراء المستقلين ورؤساء الأفرقة العاملة للإجراءات الخاصة التابعة للجنة حقوق الإنسان وبرنامج الخدمات الاستشارية، والمبادئ التوجيهية بشأن العلاقة بين نظام الإجراءات الخاصة ومفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان.
