54. The Secretary-General is particularly concerned about the exploitation by Israel of natural resources in the occupied Syrian Golan for its own benefit.
54 - ويساور الأمين العام قلق بوجه خاص إزاء استغلال إسرائيل للموارد الطبيعية في الجولان السوري المحتل لمصلحتها الخاصة.

The exploitation by Israel of natural resources, especially water, in the Palestinian territories and the occupied Syrian Golan jeopardized the development of the Palestinian economy, with all the consequences thereby entailed at the level of the daily lives of the Palestinian people and the Arab inhabitants of the occupied Syrian Golan.
وان استغلال إسرائيل للموارد الطبيعية وخاصة المياه، في اﻷراضي الفلسطينية والجولان السوري المحتل يسيئ لتنمية الاقتصاد الفلسطيني مع كل ما يتضمنه ذلك من آثار على مستوى معيشة الشعب الفلسطيني والسكان العرب في الجولان السوري المحتل.

In this regard, the Secretary-General has, in previous reports, expressed concern regarding the approximately 20,000 Israeli settlers who live in 33 settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan, and about the ongoing exploitation by Israel of natural resources in the occupied Syrian Golan, including gas, oil, wind and water (see A/68/513).
