1. In accordance with Article 11, paragraph 4, of the Convention, the objectives of the Fifth review of the financial mechanism will be as follows:

85. Action: The COP will be invited to consider the expert input provided by the Standing Committee on Finance and adopt a decision concluding the Fifth review of the financial mechanism.

The Committee also agreed to prepare a technical paper on the Fifth review of the financial mechanism based on an agreed outline and to hold the second forum of the SCF in conjunction with the Climate Investment Funds Partnership Forum in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and further agreed on a provisional programme for the forum.

22. By decision 8/CP.18, the COP initiated the Fifth review of the financial mechanism of the Convention.

Decides to initiate the Fifth review of the financial mechanism, in accordance with the criteria contained in the guidelines annexed to decisions 3/CP.4 and 6/CP.13 and further guidelines that may be developed;
