(a) follow-up to the project for updating geological maps, by using remote sensing technologies, on the scale of 1:50,000;

In its resolution 1993/60 of 30 July 1993, the Economic and Social Council, inter alia, requested the Executive Secretaries of the Economic Commission for Africa and the Economic Commission for Europe to take an active part in the follow-up to the project for a Europe-Africa permanent link through the Strait of Gibraltar and to report thereon to the Council at its substantive session of 1995.

(b) follow-up to the project for identifying sites for the drilling of underground water wells, by using space and geophysical data in all the Syrian regions, for the benefit of villages suffering from lack of water;

(c) follow-up to the project to improve monitoring of coastal land degradation in Syria and Lebanon with the use of space data, in cooperation with the Lebanese Remote Sensing Centre and the Mediterranean Remote Sensing Centre of Italy;
متابعة المشروع الخاص بتحسين رصد تآكل الأراضي الساحلية في سوريا ولبنان، عن طريق استخدام البيانات الفضائية، وذلك بالتعاون مع المركز اللبناني للاستشعار عن بعد والمركز الإيطالي للاستشعار عن بعد في منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط؛

A follow-up to the project is under development in the form of a new project entitled " Implementing adaptation to climate variability and global climate change in the Caribbean " , to be funded by GEF and other donor agencies.
ويجري حاليا متابعة المشروع في شكل مشروع جديد بعنوان " تنفيذ التكيف مع تغير المناخ وتغير المناخ العالمي في منطقة البحر الكاريبي " الذي سيتولى تمويله مرفق البيئة العالمية ووكالات مانحة أخرى.

5. Requests the Executive Secretaries of the Economic Commission for Africa and the Economic Commission for Europe to continue to take an active part in the follow-up to the project and to report to the Council at its substantive session of 2015 on the progress made on the project studies;
