The Committee notes with appreciation the information provided by the delegation on the execution of a national plan of action on the followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

The Committee considered the question of the followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and the Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination at its sixtysixth and sixtyseventh sessions.

Welcomes general recommendation XXVIII adopted on 19 March 2002 by the Committee on the Elimination on Racial Discrimination, emphasizing the importance of followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and recommending measures to strengthen the implementation of the Convention as well as the functioning of the Committee;

12- ترحب بالتوصية العامة الثامنة والعشرين التي اعتمدتها لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري في 19 آذار/مارس 2002 والتي أكدت فيها هذه اللجنة أهمية متابعة المؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب وأوصت باتخاذ تدابير لتعزيز تنفيذ الاتفاقية وأداء اللجنة لمهامها، وتشدد على أهمية تنفيذ تلك التوصية؛

22. Welcomes the emphasis placed by the Committee on the importance of followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and the measures recommended to strengthen the implementation of the Convention as well as the functioning of the Committee;
22 - ترحب بتشديد اللجنة على أهمية متابعة نتائج المؤتمر العالمي لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب والتدابير الموصى باتخاذها لتعزيز تنفيذ الاتفاقية وأداء اللجنة لمهامها؛

73. Strongly recommends that future meetings of the Human Rights Council focusing on the followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and the implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action be scheduled in a manner that allows broad participation and avoids overlap with the meetings devoted to the consideration of this item in the General Assembly;
73 - توصي بشدة بتحديد مواعيد الاجتماعات المقبلة لمجلس حقوق الإنسان التي تركز على متابعة نتائج المؤتمر العالمي لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب وتنفيذ إعلان وبرنامج عمل ديربان(1) على نحو يتيح المشاركة فيها على نطاق واسع ويحول دون تداخلها مع مواعيد جلسات الجمعية العامة المكرسة للنظر في هذا البند؛

I have no doubt that the dedication and professionalism of the members of the Committee, as well as the pluralistic and multidisciplinary nature of their contributions, will ensure that the work of the Committee contributes significantly to the implementation of both the Convention and the followup to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in the years ahead.
وما من شك لدي في أن تفاني أعضاء اللجنة وكفاءتهم المهنية، فضلاً عن الطبيعة التعددية والمتعددة التخصصات لإسهاماتهم، هي أمور ستكفل إسهام أعمال اللجنة إسهاماً هاماً في تنفيذ الاتفاقية ومتابعة المؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب في السنوات القادمة.
