The present report reviews some of the most pressing human rights concerns in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia at the end of Ms. Rehn’s tenure as Special Rapporteur, and also recalls a number of key recommendations made in her earlier reports.

105. It is with great frustration that the Special Rapporteur notes that in the absence of concrete action most of the recommendations presented in her earlier reports remain valid.

With regard to the situation in Indonesia, the Special Rapporteur has in her earlier reports and in her communications to the Government raised the widespread impunity with which militia elements and Indonesian army soldiers have allegedly committed grave human rights abuses, including extrajudicial executions, in various parts of the country, including East and West Timor, Aceh and the Maluku islands.
