28. The Commission on Human Rights, at its fiftysixth session, adopted a similar resolution (2000/49) on 25 April 2000.
28- وقد اعتمدت لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين قراراً مماثلاً (2000/49) في 25 نيسان/أبريل 2000.

1. In resolution 1999/77, entitled " Situation of human rights in Haiti " , the Commission on Human Rights, inter alia, invited its independent expert, Mr. Adama Dieng, to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session on developments in the human rights situation in Haiti.

Prior to presenting his report to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session, the Special Rapporteur undertook a mission to the area where he held meetings with a wide range of interlocutors in connection with his mandate.

32. In its resolution 1999/79, the Commission also requested the SecretaryGeneral to submit to the General Assembly at its fiftyfourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session a comprehensive report on the implementation of the various provisions of that resolution.

In its resolution 1999/9, the Commission decided to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for one year and requested him to report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan to the General Assembly at its fiftyfourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session.

In its resolution 1999/20, the Commission decided to extend the mandate of the Special Representative for a further year and requested him to report to the General Assembly at its fiftyfourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session, in accordance with his mandate.
61- وقررت اللجنة، في قرارها 99/20 تمديد ولاية الممثل الخاص لمدة عام آخر، وطلبت إليه أن يقدم تقريراً إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين وإلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين وفقاً لولايته.

81. In its resolution 1999/21, the Commission requested the SecretaryGeneral to bring that resolution to the attention of all Member States and to seek their views and information on the implications and negative effects of unilateral coercive measures on their populations, and to submit a report thereon to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session.

A table listing all the opinions adopted by the Working Group and statistical data concerning these opinions are included in the report of the Working Group to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session (E/CN.4/2000/4).

32. The Russian authorities state in the information provided that the resolution entitled " Situation in the Republic of Chechnya of the Russian Federation " adopted by the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session is unacceptable to Russia.
32- وتوضح السلطات الروسية في المعلومات المقدمة بأن روسيا تعتبر القرار المعنون " الحالة في جمهورية الشيشان التابعة للاتحاد الروسي " الذي اعتمدته لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين قراراً غير مقبول.

It will be recalled that in his report to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session (E/CN.4/2000/63) the Special Rapporteur devoted considerable attention to the issue of criminal libel and defamation.
43- وجدير بالذكر أن المقرر الخاص خص مسألة التشهير الجنائي والقذف باهتمام كبير في تقريره إلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين (E/CN.4/2000/63).

6. Several resolutions adopted by the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session are also pertinent to the mandate of the Special Rapporteur and have been taken into consideration in examining and analysing the information brought to his attention with regard to various countries.
6- كما أن عدة قرارات اعتمدتها لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين تتصل أيضاً بولاية المقرر الخاص وقد أخذت في الاعتبار لدى فحص وتحليل المعلومات التي أسترعي انتباهه إليها فيما يتعلق ببلدان مختلفة.

In this connection, the Mission encloses the comments and observations of the Government of Mexico* on the report so that they may be made available to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session as an official document, either in the form of an annex to the report of the Special Rapporteur or, if this is not possible for practical reasons, as a separate document to be distributed at the same time as the report.

In the same resolution, the Commission invited the independent expert, Mr. Adama Dieng (Senegal), to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session on developments in the human rights situation in Haiti.
