Any restrictions that may be imposed on the right to freedom of expression must be provided by law and justified as being necessary for respect of the rights or reputations of others or for the protection of national security or public order.
وأي قيود قد تُفرض على الحق في حرية التعبير يجب أن ينص عليها القانون وأن يُبرر لزومَها احترامُ حقوق الغير أو سمعتهم أو حماية الأمن الوطني أو النظام العام.

16. With regard to the topic of expulsion of aliens, the limits imposed on the right of expulsion were highly relevant; individual rights must be respected in expulsion situations.

CESCR recommended that the legislation on civil service be amended with a view to lifting the restrictions imposed on the right of civil servants to join a trade union and to strike in conformity with the comments made by the ILO Committee of Experts.

The task of the Committee under the Optional Protocol is to ascertain whether the conditions of the restrictions imposed on the right to freedom of expression are met in the communications which are brought before it'.
