In that context, the Chairman of the Commission informed the members about the note verbale dated 23 August 2005 from the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General regarding the intended participation of the representatives of Brazil in the proceedings of the Commission related to the recommendations of the Subcommission on the establishment of the outer limits of the Brazilian continental shelf.

82. With regard to the Rules of Procedure of the Commission, some delegations expressed their appreciation to the Commission for having taken into account the views expressed by States at the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties (see SPLOS/135, para. 74) and welcomed the amendments to the Rules, in particular the amended Rule 52, which allowed for a greater role for submitting coastal States in the proceedings of the Commission.
82 - وفيما يتعلق بالنظام الداخلي للجنة، أعربت بعض الوفود عن تقديرها للجنة لأنها راعت الآراء التي أعربت عنها الدول الأطراف في الاجتماع الخامس عشر للدول الأطراف (انظر الفقرة 74 من SPLOS/135)، وأعربت عن ترحيبها بالتعديلات المدخلة على النظام الداخلي، ولا سيما المادة 52 المعدلة، التي سمحت بدور أكبر للدول الساحلية المقدمة للطلبات في مداولات اللجنة.
