The purpose of the Fund is to assist representatives of indigenous communities and organizations to participate in the deliberations of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights by providing them with financial assistance, funded by means of voluntary contributions from Governments, non-governmental organizations and other private or public entities.

٢ - وقد وُسِّع نطاق ولاية صندوق التبرعات لصالح الشعوب الأصلية ست مرات، على مدى السنوات الـ 29 الماضية، لإتاحة الفرصة لمجتمعات الشعوب الأصلية ومنظماتها كي تشارك في مداولات سائر آليات حقوق الإنسان وتُسهم في ما يجري على الصعيد الدولي من تطورات هامة تتعلق بقضايا الشعوب الأصلية.

Throughout the Decade, the Group has been assisting indigenous communities and organizations in implementing a large number of small but effective projects at the local level.
فعلى مدار العقد ظل الفريق يقدم المساعدة على الصعيد المحلي لمجتمعات السكان الأصليين ومنظماتهم في تنفيذ عدد كبير من المشاريع الصغيرة ولكن الفعالة.

Both the Ministry of Health and the individual health services are, according to Act No. 19937 and their internal regulations, obliged as part of their regular duties to consider alternative approaches to health care that respect indigenous cultures and encourage the active participation of indigenous communities and organizations in the actions taken by the health services that impact them.
