In paragraph 40 of draft resolution B recommended by the Committee on Information at its twenty-fifth session for adoption by the General Assembly (see A/58/21), the General Assembly would reaffirm paragraph 15 of its resolution 57/300.

1. In its resolution 57/130 B of 11 December 2002, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at its twenty-fifth session and to the General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session on the activities of the Department of Public Information and on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the resolution.
1 - طلبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 57/130 باء، المؤرخ 11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2002، إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إلى لجنة الإعلام في دورتها الخامسة والعشرين وإلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثامنة والخمسين تقريرا عن أنشطة إدارة شؤون الإعلام وعن تنفيذ التوصيات الواردة في القرار.

The General Assembly, in its resolution 57/300 of 20 December 2002, took note of those proposals and requested the Secretary-General to submit a report for further consideration by the relevant United Nations bodies, including the Committee on Information at its twenty-fifth session.
وأحاطت الجمعية العامة علما في قرارها 57/300 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2002 بتلك المقترحات، وطلبت إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا لكي تجري هيئات الأمم المتحدة المعنية مزيدا من النظر في المسألة، ومن بينها لجنة الإعلام في دورتها الخامسة والعشرين.

1. In paragraph 8 of its resolution 57/130 B of 11 December 2002, the General Assembly encouraged the Secretary-General to continue the reorientation of United Nations activities in the field of public information and communications, including wide-ranging and possibly new and innovative proposals and to report thereon to the Committee on Information at its twenty-fifth session.
1 - في الفقرة 8 من القرار 57/130 باء المؤرخ 11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2002، شجعت الجمعية العامة الأمين العام على مواصلة عملية إعادة توجيه أنشطة الأمم المتحدة في ميدان الإعلام والاتصالات، على أن يشمل ذلك تقديم مقترحات واسعة النطاق وربما مقترحات ابتكارية جديدة، وتقديم تقرير عن ذلك إلى لجنة الإعلام في دورتها الخامسة والعشرين.
