In the report of the Working Group to the Commission on the Status of Women at its forty-seventh session (E/CN.6/2003/CRP.6), it was stated that, due to the limited number of communications received, it had not been possible to assess whether a consistent pattern of reliably attested injustice and discriminatory practices against women existed.

What was most obvious to Malaysia was that the Working Group did not or had not been able to fulfil its mandate, as contained in operative paragraph 4 (a) of Economic and Social Council resolution 1983/27, in that it had not brought to the attention of the Commission on the Status of Women any communication which revealed a consistent pattern of reliably attested injustice and discriminatory practices against women.
