The Committee held a preliminary discussion on the report of the fifth inter-committee meeting and the eighteenth meeting of chairpersons of the human rights treaty bodies and of the recommendations and points of agreement contained therein (A/61/385), and took action on a number of matters (see below).

The fifth inter-committee meeting and the eighteenth meeting of chairpersons of human rights treaty bodies recommended that the treaty bodies begin to apply the harmonized guidelines on reporting under the international human rights treaties, including guidelines on a common core document and treaty-specific documents (see HRI/MC/2006/3 and Corr.1).
