In that context, let me recall the Ukrainian proposals in the framework of international diplomatic efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the Middle East conflict (see A/57/69, annex), put forward by the President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma, last April, and which envisage a range of parallel steps in political, security and economic spheres.
