140 - نؤكد من جديد أن الأزمة المالية والاقتصادية الحالية فضلا عن حالات الإخفاق والفجوات في الإدارة المالية الدولية قد عملت على تأكيد الحاجة الملحة إلى اضطلاع الأمم المتحدة بدور رئيسي واستباقي في الإدارة الاقتصادية العامة.

The United Nations should have a stronger role, and should lead the way in reforming international financial governance, which must be transparent and inclusive, and give developing countries a voice.
وينبغي للأمم المتحدة أن تقوم بدور أقوى، كما ينبغي أن تقود الطريق إلى إعادة صياغة الحوكمة المالية الدولية التي يجب أن تكون شفافة وشاملة، وتعطي صوتاً للبلدان النامية.

69. In that context, he said that the developing countries had adopted a series of policy measures to reduce their exposure to external developments which had a negative effect on their economies. Those measures were aimed at generating additional resources for development financing, while recognizing the need to promote better international financial governance.
