At its forty-fourth session, in 1989, the General Assembly proclaimed the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, beginning on 1 January 1990, and adopted the International Framework of Action for the Decade (resolution 44/236).
أعلنت الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة واﻷربعين المعقودة في عام ١٩٨٩ العقد الدولي للحد من الكوارث الطبيعية الذي بدأ في ١ كانون الثاني/يناير ٠٩٩١ واعتمدت إطار العمل الدولي للعقد )القرار ٤٤/٦٣٢(.

Obviously, the International Framework of Action for the Decade has so far not succeeded in soliciting measurable financial support for Decade activities beyond the traditional donor community, i.e., Governments and/or government-related agencies with responsibilities in the fields of disaster management and technical cooperation.
