37. The Special Representative addressed the following letters to the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office at Geneva:

The Special Representative has sent a joint appeal together with the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions to the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva concerning the cases of Messrs. Mahrami and Talibi.

7. The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva, by means of a letter dated 29 December 1996, transmitted the following information:

4. By letter dated 24 December 1997, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office at Geneva transmitted the following information to the Special Representative:

1. Pursuant to several requests for information from the Special Representative concerning individual cases, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva sent the following letters to the Special Representative.

2. By a letter dated 22 October 1996, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva replied to a letter from the Special Representative dated 24 July 1996 as follows:

In subsequent communications to the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Special Representative requested more specific information about the work of the Commission and particularly its achievements in terms of successful interventions in response to allegations of human rights violations.
