٠١ - وعلى أساس تقرير من المدير التنفيذي للجنة الدانوب، أخطرت اللجنة رئيس مجلس اﻷمن بأن أعمال الاصلاح اللازمة ﻷهوسة شبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى تتطلب ٠٦ يوما إضافيا.

38. The Committee paid special attention to matters related to the Iron Gates I and II systems on the Danube, in view of their critical importance to Danube navigation.

4. Further requests the Government of Romania to deny passage through the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the left hand bank of the Danube to any vessel using the locks of the Iron Gates I system under the authority of paragraph 1 above which is identified as being a party to any suspected or substantiated violation of the relevant Council resolutions;
٤ - يطلب كذلك الى حكومة رومانيا ألا تسمح بالمرور عبر أهوسة شبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى الواقعة على الضفة اليسرى للدانوب ﻷي سفينة تستخدم أهوسة شبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى بمقتضى الفقرة ١ أعلاه، إذا تبين أنها طرف في أي انتهاك يشتبه فيه أو ثابت لقرارات المجلس ذات الصلة؛

(e) By resolution 992 (1995) of 11 May 1995, the Security Council decided to allow vessels of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to use the Romanian locks of the Iron Gates I system, on the left bank of the Danube, while repairs were carried out to the locks on the right bank;

Based on a report by the Executive Director of the Danube Commission, the Chairman of the Committee, on 22 June 1995, apprised the President of the Security Council that preparations for the repairs to the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the right hand bank of the Danube had been completed.

By its resolution 992 (1995) of 11 May 1995, the Security Council decided, inter alia, to permit the use by vessels of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) of the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the left-hand bank of the Danube while repairs were carried out to the locks on the right-hand bank.

This measure was adopted in view of the exceptional circumstances and at the request of Romania, supported by other Danube riparian States, the Danube Commission and the European Union/Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (EU/OSCE) Sanctions Coordinator, who stressed the importance for safe international navigation on the Danube of the Iron Gates I system being properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.

Further to paragraph 2 of Security Council resolution 992 (1995) dated 11 May 1995, I have the honour to inform you that on the basis of information available to it the Danube Commission is satisfied that preparations for repair of the locks in the " Iron Gates I " system on the right bank of the Danube have been completed.

The Committee considered the report and decided to notify the Security Council hereby, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Council resolution 992 (1995), that a further period of 60 days is required for completion of the necessary repairs to the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the right-hand bank of the Danube.

In March 1994, the Committee was seized of Romania's request, supplemented by a request from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, supported by the Danube Commission, for the approval of passage of vessels from that country in cabotage through the Romanian locks at the Iron Gates I, so that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia could undertake necessary repairs to the locks on its side of the river.

With a view to preserving the safety of international navigation on the River Danube, the Council has exceptionally allowed vessels of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) to use the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the left hand bank of the Danube while those on the right hand bank of the river underwent urgent repairs (Security Council resolution 992 (1995) of 11 May 1995).

Taking note of the letter (S/1995/372) of the Chairman of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 724 (1991) regarding use by vessels registered in, or owned or controlled by persons in, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) of the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the left hand bank of the Danube while repairs are carried out to the locks on the right hand bank,
وإذ يحيط علما برسالة رئيس اللجنة المنشأة عملا بالقرار ٧٢٤ )١٩٩١( (S/1995/372) المتعلقة باستخدام السفن المسجلة في جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية )صربيا والجبل اﻷسود( أو السفن التي يملكها أو يسيطر عليها أشخاص مقيمون فيها، ﻷهوسة شبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى على الضفة اليسرى من الدانوب أثناء إجراء اﻹصلاحات باﻷهوسة الواقعة على الضفة اليمنى،

1. Decides that the use of the locks of the Iron Gates I system on the left hand bank of the Danube by vessels (a) registered in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) or (b) in which a majority or controlling interest is held by a person or undertaking in or operating from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) shall be permitted in accordance with this resolution;
١ - يقرر السماح، وفقا ﻷحكام هذا القرار، للسفن )أ( المسجلة في جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية )صربيا والجبل اﻷسود( أو )ب( السفن التي يملك الحصة الكبرى فيها أو الحصة التي تمكنه من السيطرة عليها شخص أو مشروع في جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية )صربيا والجبل اﻷسود( أو يعملان فيها، باستخدام أهوسة شبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى على الضفة اليسرى للدانوب؛

Following the Committee's recommendation, based on an expert assessment of the matter by the Danube Commission, the Security Council adopted resolution 992 (1995), allowing the use of the Romanian locks of the Iron Gates I system by vessels of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, while the locks of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were undergoing repairs.
وعقب توصية اللجنة، واستنادا إلى تقييم خبراء للمسألة أجرته لجنة الدانوب، اعتمد مجلس اﻷمن القرار ٢٩٩ )٥٩٩١(، الذي يسمح بأن تستخدم سفن جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية اﻷهوسة الرومانية لشبكة البوابات الحديدية اﻷولى، أثناء إصلاح أهوسة جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية.
