At its fortyfourth session, the SubCommission had before it the final report of the Special Rapporteur (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1992/20) and a note by the SecretaryGeneral (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1992/20/Add.1) containing a proposal to organize a meeting of experts on the application of international standards concerning the human rights of detained juveniles.

At its fortyfourth session, in 1992, the Commission established a Working Group to consider some of the general issues relating to the scope, the approach to be taken and the possible direction of the future work on the topic.

The Committee noted that, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 61/111, the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee at its fortyfourth session had convened the Working Group of the Whole to consider the implementation of the recommendations of UNISPACE III. The Chairman of the Working Group of the Whole was Muhammad Nasim Shah (Pakistan).

The SubCommission, in its resolution 1991/34, requested the SecretaryGeneral to update his report on the recruitment of children into government and nongovernmental armed forces on the basis of the information provided by Governments, the specialized agencies and intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations concerned and to submit it to the SubCommission at its fortyfourth session.
96- وطلبت اللجنة الفرعية إلى الأمين العام، في قرارها 1991/34، أن يستوفي تقريره عن تجنيد الأطفال في القوات المسلحة الحكومية وغير الحكومية على أساس المعلومات المقدمة من الحكومات والوكالات المتخصصة والمنظمات الحكومية الدولية وغير الحكومية المعنية، وأن يقدم هذا التقرير إلى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الرابعة والأربعين.

As requested by the General Assembly in paragraph 9 of its resolution 54/68 of 6 December 1999, in 2000 the Secretary-General invited Member States to contribute to the Fund and included in his invitation a list of priority project proposals prepared on the basis of recommendations of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space at its fortyfourth session.

At its fortyfourth session, the SubCommission, in its resolution 1992/8, having taken note of the report of the intersessional Working Group on the methods of work of the SubCommission, decided to annex to that resolution the document entitled " Guidelines which the SubCommission adopted at its fortyfourth session concerning its methods of work, pursuant to paragraphs 6 and 7 of Commission on Human Rights resolution 1992/66 " .
