8. Speaking on behalf of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Zdzislaw Kedzia stated that since its adoption, the implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action had been among the priorities of OHCHR.

6. Mr. Kedzia commended the decision of the Working Group to undertake country visits in its capacity as a special procedure of the Commission on Human Rights.

In relation to heading T, Mr. Kedzia proposed several additions to the mentioned protections, namely compensation mechanisms and assistance in the event of loss of employment by the breadwinners of poor families, protection of pregnant women against the loss of employment, access to a first job as well as non-discrimination on grounds of gender, age, and disability.
