Since my last letter to you on 18 January 2006, the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, has witnessed significant political developments, namely the conclusion of democratic and transparent elections.

In follow-up to the above-mentioned letters, it is my profound regret to inform you that, since my last letter to you two days ago, at least 12 more Palestinian civilians have been killed by the Israeli occupying forces, raising the total number of martyrs killed since September 2000 to 4,611 people. (The names of the martyrs that have been identified are listed in the annex to the present letter.)
وتعقيبا على الرسائل المذكورة أعلاه، يُؤسفني أشد الأسف أن أبلغكم بأن 12 مدنيا فلسطينيا على الأقل قُتلوا على أيدي قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية منذ آخر رسالة وجهتها إليكم منذ يومين، فارتفع عدد الشهداء المقتولين منذ أيلول/سبتمبر 2000 إلى 611 4 شخصا.
