The President (spoke in Arabic): As members are aware, in accordance with the provisions of Article 12, paragraph 2, of the Charter of the United Nations, and with the consent of the Security Council, the Secretary-General is mandated to notify the General Assembly of matters relative to the maintenance of international peace and security that are being dealt with by the Security Council and of matters with which the Council has ceased to deal.
الرئيس: كما يعلم الأعضاء، فإن الأمين العام مكلف بموجب أحكام الفقرة 2 من المادة 12 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وبموافقة مجلس الأمن، بأن يخطر الجمعية العامة بالمسائل المتصلة بصون السلام والأمن الدوليين التي يتناولها مجلس الأمن حاليا وبالمسائل التي توقف المجلس عن تناولها.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 12, paragraph 2, of the Charter of the United Nations and with the consent of the Security Council, the Secretary-General has the honour to notify the General Assembly of matters relative to the maintenance of international peace and security that are being dealt with by the Security Council.

The Secretary-General, with the consent of the Security Council, shall notify the General Assembly at each session of any matters relative to the maintenance of international peace and security which are being dealt with by the Security Council and shall similarly notify the General Assembly, or the Members of the United Nations if the General Assembly is not in session, immediately the Security Council ceases to deal with such matters.
يقوم الأمين العام، بموافقة مجلس الأمن، بإخطار الجمعية العامة في كل دورة بأية مسائل متصلة بحفظ السلم والأمن الدوليين تكون محل نظر مجلس الأمن، وكذلك بإخطار الجمعية العامة، أو أعضاء الأمم المتحدة إذا لم تكن الجمعية العامة منعقدة، فور انقطاع مجلس الأمن عن النظر في تلك المسائل.
