Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, was escorted into the General Assembly Hall.

In this context and at the Central African level, the President of the Republic, Mr. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, addressed a message to his counterparts in the subregion, in which he said:

I wish in conclusion to express the gratitude of the head of State of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency Mr. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to all development actors and friendly countries for their unflagging efforts to promote the well-being of the population of Equatorial Guinea.
وأود في الختام أن أعرب عن امتنان رئيس دولة جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية، فخامة السيد أوبيانغ نغيما مباسوغو لجميع العناصر العاملة في المجال اﻹنمائي وللبلدان الصديقة لجهودها الثابتة لتعزيز رفاه سكان غينيا الاستوائية.

67. In 2011, not only will the Republic of Equatorial Guinea host the African Union Summit, but His Excellency Mr. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has been elected President of the African Union for the current year.
67 - ولم تكن أهم المستجدات في هذا العام هي استضافة جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية مؤتمر قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي فحسب، بل أيضا انتخاب فخامة السيد أوبيانغ نغيما مباسوغو رئيساً للاتحاد الأفريقي.

36. Mr. Edu Mbasogo (Equatorial Guinea) said that his delegation had voted in favour of the draft resolution because cultural diversity was an important part of human rights.

The Committee paid tribute to the efforts of the authorities of Equatorial Guinea to promote national consensus and, in particular, the amnesty granted at the end of 2000 by the head of State, H.E. Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to those who had committed acts of terrorism on 21 January 1998.
وحيت اللجنــــة الجهود التي تبذلها سلطات غينيا الاستوائية لتشجيع الوئام الوطني، ولا سيما العفو الذي منحه فخامة رئيس الدولة السيد تيودور أوبيانغ نغيما مباسوغو في نهاية العام الماضي لمرتكبي الأعمال الإرهابية التي وقعت في 21 كانون الثاني/يناير 1998.

On 9 December, my Special Representative met with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, in his capacity as Chairperson of the African Union, to discuss ways of enhancing African Union support towards the implementation of the pension fund and other security sector reform priority projects in the country.

35. Mr. Mbasogo (Equatorial Guinea) said that his delegation agreed with many of the recommendations contained in the report, as security companies and mercenaries must be regulated internationally and brought to trial when they broke the law.

23. Mr. Edu Mbasogo (Equatorial Guinea) said that universal jurisdiction was a principle of international law intended to prevent impunity and ensure that the perpetrators of serious crimes such as war crimes and crimes against humanity were brought to justice.
