In order to encourage member States of the Zone to promote capacity-building for scientific research in evaluating the potential of mineral resources in the seabed, as well as the delimitation of continental shelf and the assessment of its mineral resources, including the identification of initiatives and programmes of cooperation within the Zone, agree to:
بغية تشجيع الدول الأعضاء في المنطقة على تعزيز بناء القدرات على إجراء بحوث علمية في مجال تقييم إمكانية وجود موارد معدنية في قاع البحار، فضلا عن تعيين حدود الجرف القاري، وتقييم موارده المعدنية، بطرق شتى من بينها تحديد مبادرات وبرامج للتعاون داخل المنطقة، فقد اتفقنا على ما يلي:

Promote, improve upon and deepen the capacity of member States of the Zone to provide continuous support for, and participation in United Nations peacekeeping and peacebuilding activities;
8 - تعزيز قدرة الدول الأعضاء في المنطقة في مجال توفير الدعم المتواصل لأنشطة حفظ السلام وبناء السلام التي تضطلع بها الأمم المتحدة والمشاركة في هذه الأنشطة، وإدخال تحسينات على هذه القدرة وترسيخها؛

Establish an Ad Hoc Expert Working Group on Peacekeeping and Peace Support Operations to further explore priorities, opportunities and mechanisms for cooperation among the member States of the Zone.

Promote the human rights of seafarers and request member States of the Zone to consider setting up mechanisms to protect their rights;

11 - تشكيل فريق خبراء عامل مخصص يعنى بمسائل البحث العلمي والبيئة والمسائل البحرية من أجل المضي قدما في استكشاف أولويات التعاون فيما بين الدول الأعضاء في المنطقة وفرص وآليات هذا التعاون.

30. Express the determination of member States of the Zone to prevent and eliminate terrorism, in accordance with the relevant international conventions and Security Council resolutions;
30 - نعرب عن تصميم الدول الأعضاء في المنطقة على منع الإرهاب والقضاء عليه، وفقا للاتفاقيات الدولية وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة؛

68. Stress the need for all member States of the Zone to maintain effective Flag State controls, including through the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) and to prevent and combat the issuance of flags of convenience;

The delegation of Nigeria is equally gratified to note that, Cuba's ratification last year of the NPT and the Treaty of Tlatelolco, all member States of the Zone are now irrevocably committed to a nuclear-weapon-free South Atlantic.

48. Reaffirm also the need to support current peace processes and United Nations peacekeeping operations currently deployed in member States of the Zone.
