The provisions of this appendix shall be interpreted in accordance with the annex above on modalities and procedures for a CDM.

The Conference of the Parties (COP), at its seventh session, decided to facilitate a prompt start for a clean development mechanism (CDM) by adopting decision 17/CP.7, and the annex thereto containing modalities and procedures for a CDM (hereinafter referred to as " the CDM modalities and procedures " ) (FCCC/CP/2001/13/Add.2).
