mutual assistance and international cooperation will continue to play a critical role in the management of all international courts and national courts trying crimes of an international nature and, as such, it is crucial for Member States to ensure that the Tribunal has the same level of support at closure that it did at its inception, and that the same is true for other current and future judicial institutions similarly situated.

The lessons learned in terms of international cooperation between the Tribunal and Member States, which allowed the Tribunal to carry out its judicial functions, form a central part of the legacy of the Tribunal as mutual assistance and international cooperation will continue to play a critical role in the management of all international courts and national courts trying crimes of an international nature.
