The establishment of the Central Asia Unit would be crucial for ensuring coverage of a fragile region with significant geopolitical importance, necessary support for the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia and greater United Nations engagement to enhance peace and stability in the region.
