Each State Party shall endeavour to ensure that any discretionary legal powers under its domestic law relating to the prosecution of persons for offences covered by this Convention are exercised to maximize the effectiveness of law enforcement measures in respect of those offences and with due regard to the need to deter the commission of such offences.

2. States Parties shall endeavour to ensure that any discretionary legal powers conferred under their domestic law and connected with the prosecution of persons for offences mentioned under this Convention are exercised so as to maximize the effectiveness of the detection and enforcement measures applying to those offences, due account being taken of the need to deter the commission of such offences.

٢- تسعى الدول اﻷطراف إلى ضمان ممارسة أي سلطات قانونية تقديرية بموجب قوانينها الداخلية فيما يتعلق بملاحقة الجرائم المنصوص عليها وفقا للمادة )المواد( ـــــ بغية تحقيق أكبر قدر من الفعالية لتدابير إنفاذ القوانين التي تتخذ فيما يتصل بهذه الجرائم، ومع المراعاة الواجبة لضرورة ردع ارتكاب هذه الجرائم )الفقرة ٦ من المادة ٣ من اتفاقية عام ٨٨٩١(.
