B. Information on the status of notifications in the Register of Specific Exemptions and Registers of acceptable purposes

On 17 February 2012, Myanmar notified the Secretariat of its withdrawal from the register of acceptable purposes for DDT.

Consider revising the list of acceptable purposes and specific exemptions on the basis of the information found in the technical paper when it evaluates the continued need for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF) for the various acceptable purposes and specific exemptions, in accordance with paragraphs 5 and 6 of part III of Annex B to the Stockholm Convention, taking into account that:

As at 15 December 2014, the Secretariat had received 17 notifications of acceptable purposes for DDT and 9 for PFOS, its salts and PFOSF, and has compiled information relevant to the evaluation of the continued need for those chemicals (see UNEP/POPS/COP.7/5 and UNEP/POPS/COP.7/8).
