1. The Convention shall apply in respect of all United Nations and associated personnel, as defined in article 1 of the Convention, and to all United Nations operations or presences established in a host country pursuant to a standing or specific mandate of a United Nations competent organ consistent with the Charter of the United Nations and conducted under United Nations authority and control.
1 - تطبق الاتفاقية على جميع موظفي الأمم المتحدة والأفراد المرتبطين بها، حسب التعريف الوارد في المادة 1 من الاتفاقية، وعلى جميع عمليات الأمم المتحدة أو انتشاراتها التي تنشأ في بلد مضيف عملا بولايات دائمة أو محددة لأحد الأجهزة المختصة التابعة للأمم المتحدة وفقا لميثاق الأمم المتحدة ويضطلع بها تحت سلطة ومراقبة الأمم المتحدة.

(b) To ensure the security and protection of all United Nations and associated personnel and other personnel carrying out activities in fulfilment of the mandate of a United Nations operation, in compliance with international humanitarian law, in particular their obligations under the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 and the obligations applicable to them under the Additional Protocols thereto of 8 June 1977;
(ب) ضمان أمن وحماية جميع موظفي الأمم المتحدة والأفراد المرتبطين بها وغيرهم من الأفراد الذين يضطلعون بأنشطة لتنفيذ ولاية مسندة إلى عملية من عمليات الأمم المتحدة، وذلك امتثالاً للقانون الإنساني الدولي، ولا سيما لالتزاماتها بموجب اتفاقيات جنيف المؤرخة 12 آب/أغسطس 1949 والالتزامات المنطبقة عليها بموجب البروتوكولين الإضافيين المؤرخين 8 حزيران/يونيه 1977؛
