These statements reflected the activities of ICAA supportive of various resolutions of the Commission, in particular in the field of reduction of demand for illicit drugs.

Through its country, regional and global programmes, UNODC supported drug prevention and drug dependence treatment in a total of 57 countries, including through the recently launched project to support the reduction of demand for illicit drugs in the Andean region.
٥٦- ومن خلال برامج المكتب القُطرية والإقليمية والعالمية دَعَم المكتبُ أنشطة الوقاية من المخدِّرات وعلاج المرتهنين لها فيما مجموعه ٥٧ بلداً؛ وذلك من خلال عدة مشاريع منها المشروع الذي اسُتهل مؤخراً من أجل دعم خفض الطلب على المخدِّرات غير المشروعة في منطقة الأنديز.

ICAA participated regularly at the annual Sessions of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (UNCND), where the representatives of the organisation made oral and written statements, reflecting ICAA's support of various resolutions, in particular in the field of reduction of demand for illicit drugs.
وشارك المجلس بانتظام في الدورات السنوية للجنة الأمم المتحدة للمخدرات حيث أدلى ممثلو المنظمة ببيانات شفوية وقدموا بيانات خطية، تعكس دعم المجلس لمختلف قرارات اللجنة، وبخاصة في مجال خفض الطلب على المخدرات غير المشروعة.

5. Encourages the United Nations International Drug Control Programme to promote mechanisms to ensure that information utilized in formulating policies for the reduction of demand for illicit drugs is clear, valid, reliable and comprehensive and can be collected at low cost so that it is accessible to all Member States;
5- تشجع برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات على أن يروج آليات تضمن أن تكون المعلومات المستخدمة في صوغ سياسات خفض الطلب على المخدرات غير المشروعة واضحة وصحيحة ويعوَّل عليها وشاملة ويمكن جمعها بتكلفة منخفضة كي يكون الاطلاع عليها متاحا لجميع الدول الأعضاء؛

2. Calls upon the Executive Director of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme to summarize, in a series of papers to be presented to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its forty-sixth session, the current state of implementation of activities for the reduction of demand for illicit drugs throughout the world, incorporating flexible guidelines on best practices and taking into account cultural specificities;
2- تناشد المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات أن يلخص، في سلسلة ورقات تقدم إلى لجنة المخدرات في دورتها السادسة والأربعين، الحالة الراهنة لتنفيذ الأنشطة الرامية إلى خفض الطلب على المخدرات غير المشروعة في جميع أنحاء العالم، وتتضمن مبادئ توجيهية مرنة بشأن أفضل الممارسات، وتراعي جوانب الخصوصية الثقافية؛

Activities in this area involve the creation of information and data systems that enable analysts and policy makers to assess the level of drug abuse and related problems at the country, regional and global levels and the provision of support to countries and regions in the implementation of those systems with a view to developing their own strategies and activities for the reduction of demand for illicit drugs.
36- تشمل الأنشطة في هذا المجال إنشاء نظم للمعلومات والبيانات تساعد المحللين ومقرري السياسات على تقدير مستوى تعاطي المخدرات وما يتصل به من مشاكل على جميع الأصعدة، القطري والاقليمي والعالمي، وتقديم الدعم للبلدان والمناطق في تطبيق هذه النظم بهدف تطوير استراتيجياتها وأنشطتها في مجال خفض الطلب على المخدرات غير المشروعة.
