4.11. Subject to the proper performance of judicial duties, a judge may:

(j) Subject to the proper and effective performance of judicial duties, a judge may engage in any lawful activity as long as it does not bring judicial office in the United Nations into disrepute in the mind of reasonable members of the community;
(ي) رهنا بأداء القضاة لواجباتهم القضائية على نحو سليم وبفعالية، يجوز لهم ممارسة أي أنشطة مشروعة أخرى طالما أنها لا تنتقص من هيبة المنصب القضائي في الأمم المتحدة من وجهة نظر أفراد المجتمع المعروفين برجاحة التفكير؛

1.5. A judge shall encourage and uphold safeguards for the discharge of judicial duties in order to maintain and enhance the institutional and operational independence of the judiciary. 1.6.
1-5- يشجع القاضي ويدعم الضمانات اللازمة لأداء واجباته القضائية بغية صون وتعزيز الاستقلال المؤسسي والتنفيذي للسلطة القضائية.

A judge and members of the judge's family shall neither ask for, nor accept, any gift, bequest, loan or favour in relation to anything done or to be done or omitted to be done by the judge in connection with the performance of judicial duties.
4-14- لا يطلب القاضي وأفراد عائلته ولا يقبلون أي هدية أو هبة أو قرض أو حظوة فيما يتعلق بأي شيء فعله القاضي أو سيفعله أو أحجم عن فعله فيما يتعلق بأداء واجباته القضائية.

(د) ممارسة أنشطة أخرى إذا كانت تلك الأنشطة لا تنتقص من هيبة المنصب القضائي أو تتدخّل بشكل آخر في أداء واجباته القضائية.

4.9. A judge shall not use or lend the prestige of the judicial office to advance the private interests of the judge, a member of the judge's family or of anyone else, nor shall a judge convey or permit others to convey the impression that anyone is in a special position improperly to influence the judge in the performance of judicial duties. 4.10.
4-9- لا يستعمل القاضي أو يستغل مكانة المنصب القضائي لتعزيز مصالحه الشخصية أو مصالح أحد أفراد عائلته أو أي شخص آخر، ولا يعطي القاضي أو يسمح لآخرين بأن يعطوا الانطباع بأن أي شخص في مكانة خاصة من شأنه أن يؤثر في القاضي تأثيرا غير ملائم في أداء واجباته القضائية.

(د) أن يمارس أنشطة أخرى إذا كانت تلك الأنشطة لا تنتقص من هيبة المنصب القضائي أو تتدخل بشكل آخر في أداء واجباته القضائية.

A judge shall take reasonable steps to maintain and enhance the judge's knowledge, skills and personal qualities necessary for the proper performance of judicial duties, taking advantage for that purpose of the training and other facilities that should be made available, under judicial control, to judges.
6-3- يتخذ القاضي خطوات معقولة لصون وتعزيز معارفه ومهاراته وصفاته الشخصية اللازمة لأداء واجباته القضائية على نحو سليم، مع الاستفادة لذلك الغرض من التدريب والتسهيلات الأخرى التي ينبغي توفيرها للقضاة تحت الرقابة القضائية.
