:: Department of Political Affairs and United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq. In partnership with Iraqi ministries, entities of the civil society and concerned United Nations agencies, UNAMI has conducted several workshops and projects on promoting human rights, as well as on reforming the judicial system and strengthening the rule of law in Iraq.

This Decree is further evidence of the absence of the rule of law in Iraq and is a clear violation of articles 10 and 11 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, articles 9 and 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and possibly also article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
