Israel would like to see more efforts invested in such work, especially regarding the identification and increased awareness of links between terrorism and related crimes, such as illicit drug trafficking.

21. Identification and promotion of awareness of links between terrorism and related crimes. The study of links between terrorism and related crimes, such as illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, money-laundering and illicit arms trafficking, serves to discover vulnerabilities of terrorist groups and can thus help in dismantling them.
21 - تحديد الروابط بين الإرهاب والجرائم ذات الصلة وزيادة الوعي بها - تساعد دراسة الروابط بين الإرهاب والجرائم ذات الصلة، مثل الاتجار غير المشروع بالمخدرات، والجريمة المنظمة، وغسل الأموال، والاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة، على اكتشاف جوانب الضعف في الجماعات الإرهابية ويمكن بالتالي أن تساعد في تفكيكها.

Moreover, the Third Committee had considered proposals for the facilitation and/or provision of legislative and capacity-building assistance, identification and dissemination of best practices and identification and promotion of awareness of links between terrorism and related crimes.

8. By a note verbale dated 30 September 2003 and a follow-up note dated 29 December 2003, the Secretariat, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 58/136, requested information from Member States on the nature of links between terrorism and other forms of crime.

11. Other States found it difficult to comment on the existence of links between terrorism and other forms of crime, since they had not faced terrorist activities within their territories in recent years.

22 - دَعَت الجمعية العامة في قرارها 58/136 الدول الأعضاء إلى موافاة الأمين العام بمعلومات عن طبيعة الصلات بين الإرهاب وسائر أشكال الجريمة بغية زيادة التآزر في تقديم المساعدة التقنية.

Cuba shares the concern about the risk of links between terrorism and weapons of mass destruction and fully supports legitimate international efforts to deter the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery by terrorists.

Many speakers made reference to the information contained in the working paper prepared by the Secretariat on the issue of links between terrorism and other criminal activities (A/CONF.203/5) and expressed their satisfaction with the analysis of the available information.
وأشار عدة متكلمين إلى المعلومات الواردة في ورقة العمل التي أعدتها الأمانة العامة عن مسألة العلاقات بين الإرهاب والأنشطة الإجرامية الأخرى (A/CONF.203/5) وأعربوا عن ارتياحهم للتحليل المتعلق بالمعلومات المتاحة.
