In the area of environment and economics, UNEP catalyses the development and application of methodologies for the valuation of environmental goods and services, natural resource accounting, environmental impact assessment and cost-benefit analysis for environmental management, as well as the relationship between trade and the environment.

During the reporting period the Board approved 15 methodologies for large-scale project activities (not including A/R projects; see paragraph below), including two consolidated methodologies to further expand the availability of methodologies for the CDM.

During the reporting period, in further expanding the availability of methodologies for the CDM, the Executive Board approved 19 methodologies for large-scale project activities (not including A/R projects: see para. 45 below), three of which were consolidated methodologies. This increased the number of approved non-A/R methodologies to 57, which includes 12 consolidated methodologies.
