وإذ يسلم بأن تطبيق مبدأ السيادة الدائمة في مجال الموارد المعدنية والمائية لا يمكن فصله عن المسائل اﻷخرى ذات الصلة بالتنمية المستدامة للموارد المائية والمعدنية،

While reaffirming the importance of the principle of permanent sovereignty over natural resources to sustainable development, the Committee is of the view that the application of the principle in the area of mineral and water resources cannot be separated from other issues related to the sustainable development and management of water and mineral resources.
إن اللجنة، وهي تؤكد مرة أخرى اﻷهمية التي يمثلها مبدأ السيادة الدائمة على الموارد الطبيعية بالنسبة للتنمية المستدامة، ترى أن تطبيق هذا المبدأ في مجال الموارد المعدنية والمائية لا يمكن أن يتم بمعزل عن سائر القضايا اﻷخرى المتصلة بموضوع التنمية واﻹدارة المستدامتين لهذه الموارد.

The Committee therefore recommends that the issue of permanent sovereignty over mineral and water resources no longer be included in the agenda of its future sessions as a standing item, but that specific aspects of this issue be brought to the attention of the Committee under other items of the agenda relevant to the development of mineral and water resources.
وعليه، توصي اللجنة بالتوقف عن إدراج مسألة السيادة الدائمة على الموارد المعدنية والمائية في جداول أعمال دوراتها المقبلة، باعتبارها من بنودها الدائمة وأن يجري بدلا من ذلك لفت نظر اللجنة الى الجوانب المحددة لهذه المسألة في اطار بنود جدول اﻷعمال اﻷخرى المتصلة بتنمية الموارد المعدنية والمائية.

2. Recommends that the issue of permanent sovereignty over mineral and water resources no longer be included as a standing item in the agenda of the Committee on Natural Resources, but that specific aspects of the issue be brought to the attention of the Committee under other items of the agenda relevant to the development of mineral and water resources;
٢ - يوصي بالتوقف عن إدراج مسألة السيادة الدائمة على الموارد المعدنية والمائية في جدول أعمال لجنة الموارد الطبيعية باعتبارها من بنودها الدائمة، وأن يجري بدلا من ذلك لفت نظر اللجنة إلى الجوانب المحددة لهذه المسألة في إطار بنود جدول اﻷعمال اﻷخرى المتصلة بتنمية الموارد المعدنية والمائية؛

(i) Assistance to the Council and the Committee for Programme and Coordination in maintaining the necessary liaison between the activities in the field of mineral and water resources of the regional commissions, the specialized agencies, the International Atomic Energy Agency and other bodies doing relevant work, with a view to ensuring the utmost efficiency and cooperation;
