Article 27 of the Convention guides States parties in the implementation of the right of persons with disabilities to work through, inter alia, the following standards:

In ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in particular Article 27, the Cook Islands recognised the right of persons with disabilities to work on an equal basis with others.
