The forty-sixth ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) was held on 15 December 2014, in Abuja, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Ghana and current Chairman of the Authority, His Excellency Mr. John Dramani Mahama.

I have the honour to convey a letter dated 25 March 2011 from the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Mr. James Victor Gbeho, requesting the transmission of the resolution of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, dated 24 March 2011 (see annex).

7. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Secretary-General of OAU, the Director-General of FAO and the President of the African Business Roundtable sent solidarity messages to the twenty-fifth session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government.

We express satisfaction at the adoption of the ECOWAS Mechanism for Conflict Prevention, Resolution, Peacekeeping and Regional Security during the twenty-first ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government, held in Abuja on 30 and 31 October 1998, and direct the Executive Secretary to continue the efforts aimed at ensuring its speedy implementation.
