164. Article 28 of the Basic Law of the State guarantees the freedom of individuals to perform their religious observances. There are places of worship for all religions and confessions in Oman and followers practice their beliefs openly and in complete freedom.
164- المادة 28 من النظام الأساسي للدولة كفلت حرية الأفراد في القيام بشعائرهم الدينية، وهناك دور عبادة لجميع الأديان والطوائف الموجودة في عمان يمارس أصحابها عقائدهم علانية وبحرية تامة.

332. The Sultanate continues to implement the provisions of the Social Security Act promulgated by Royal Decree No. 87/84, as amended, in accordance with the obligation of the State under article 12 of the Basic Law of the State.
332- أن السلطنة ما زالت تعمل أحكام نظام الضمان الاجتماعي الصادر بالمرسوم السلطاني رقم87/84 وتعديلاته عملاً بالتزام الدولة الوارد في المادة 12 من النظام الأساسي للدولة.

Article 22 of the Basic Law of the State prohibits the infliction of any physical or mental harm on the accused. Article 181 of the Penal Code provides that any public servant who inflicts on person blows of a severity not permitted by law for the purpose of procuring a confession to a crime or information on a crime shall be punished in addition to any legally prescribed punishment for the infliction of degrading treatment, abuse or harm.
وتحظر المادة 22 من النظام الأساسي للدولة إيذاء المتهم جسمانياً أو معنويـاً، وتنص المادة 181 من قانون الجزاء على عقاب كل موظف أوقع بشخص ضروباً من الشدة لا يجيزها القانون رغبة منه في الحصول على إقرار عن جريمة أو معلومات بشأنها فضلاً عما يعاقب عليه القانون جزاء التحقير أو الإهانة أو الإيذاء.

471. Article 26 of the Basic Law of the State provides that: " No medical or scientific experiment may be conducted on anyone without his consent " .
471- نصت المادة 26 من النظام الأساسي للدولة على أنه: " لا يجوز إجراء أية تجربة طبية أو علمية على الإنسان بدون رضائه الحر.

Article 22 of the Basic Law of the State provides that the accused is innocent until his guilt is proved by a legal trial in which the necessary guarantees have been secured, including the right of selfdefence in accordance with the law.
220- نصت المادة 22 من النظام الأساسي للدولة على أن المتهم بريء حتى تثبت إدانته في محاكمة قانونية تؤمن له فيها الضمانات الضرورية لممارسة حق الدفاع وفقا للقانون.

104. Article 17 of the Basic Law of the State (1996) guarantees the principle of equality among all citizens, without discrimination on the basis of gender.
104- كفلت المادة 17 من النظام الأساسي للدولة الصادر عام 1996 مبدأ المساواة بين المواطنين جميعا دون تمييز على أساس الجنس.

226. Article 17 of the Basic Law of the State establishes the principle of equality among all citizens in respect of public rights and duties and the absence of any accepted form of discrimination between them, including on the basis of sex/gender.
226- ترسخ المادة 17 من النظام الأساسي للدولة مبدأ المساواةِ بين جميع المواطنين في الحقوقِ والواجبات العامة، وعدم التمييز بينهم بأيّ شكلٍّ من الأشكال المعروفة، ومن ضمنها الجنس أو النوع.

228. Women and men are equal before the law. Litigation is a right safeguarded for all persons, as stated in article 25 of the Basic Law of the State.
228- تقف المرأة أمام القضاء في وضعٍ مُساوٍ للرجل؛ فالتقاضي حقٌ مصون، ومكفول للناس كافة، مثلما ورد في المادة 25 من النظام الأساسي للدولة.

47. Taking account of the Sultanate's belief in the importance of the right to work, it is provided in article 12, paragraphs 6 and 7, of the Basic Law of the State that: " The State shall enact laws protecting workers and employers and regulating the relationship between them.
47- وإيماناً من السلطنة بأهمية الحق في العمل فقد نصت الفقرتان السادسة والسابعة من المادة 12 من النظام الأساسي للدولة على " تسن الدولة القوانين التي تحمي العامل وصاحب العمل وتنظم العلاقة بينهما.

57. Provided for in article 12 of the Basic Law of the State, the right to work is regulated, protected and implemented by legislation. Examples of the laws concerned are:
57- فيما يتعلق بالحق في العمل الذي ورد النص عليه في المادة 12 من النظام الأساسي للدولة فقد تدخلت العديد من التشريعات لتنظيمه وحمايته ووضعه موضع التنفيذ من بين هذه القوانين على سبيل المثال:

76. Freedom of opinion and expression: Article 29 of the Basic Law of the State has assured this freedom and expressly states that " freedom of opinion and expression, whether spoken, written, or in other forms, is guaranteed within the limits of the law " .
76- حرية الفكر والرأي والتعبير، كفلت المادة 29 من النظام الأساسي للدولة هذا الجانب فنصت صراحة على أن " حرية الرأي والتعبير عنه بالقول والكتابة وسائر وسائل التعبير مكفولة في حدود القانون " .

153. In Omani law, there is nothing to prohibit any person from expressing his or her opinion within the limits of the law, as guaranteed under articles 28, 29 and 30 of the Basic Law of the State.
153- لا يوجد في القانون العماني ما يحظر على أي كان أن يعبر عن رأيه في حدود القانون، وقد كفلت المواد (28 و29 و30) من النظام الأساسي للدولة ذلك.

173. Article 20 of the Basic Law of the State, article 192 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Omani Penal Code and the punishments imposed for abuse, torture or indecent assault were examined in that section.
