The General Assembly has invited the international community to support the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), especially in the establishment of the Council for Peace and Security in Central Africa and the Central African early warning system.

In a regional effort to help to address the crisis in the Central African Republic, the Committee on Defence and Security of the Council for Peace and Security in Central Africa held an extraordinary meeting in Libreville, from 14 to 18 May, focused on the situation in the Central African Republic.
