It aimed to ensure that the international community implemented the objectives of the International Year of the Family at all levels, by strengthening the family components of integrated development policies and programmes.

5. Invites Member States to consider undertaking activities in preparation for the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family at the national level;

23. The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women considered the International Year of the Family at its eleventh to thirteenth sessions.
٢٣ - نظرت لجنة القضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة مسألة السنة الدولية لﻷسرة في دوراتها من الحادية عشرة الى الثالثة عشرة.

21. Decides to consider the question of the International Year of the Family at its fiftieth session, on the basis of a report of the Secretary-General under the agenda item entitled " Social Development " .
٢١ - تقرر النظر في مسألة السنة الدولية لﻷسرة في دورتها الخمسين استنادا إلى تقرير من اﻷمين العام في إطار بند معنون " التنمية الاجتماعية " من جدول اﻷعمال.

The results of these international meetings will be of extreme importance in highlighting the importance of the Family at the end of this decade, as we look to the future.
