Practical implementation of resolution 1997/58 confirmed the necessity of requesting that the recipient Government ensures the protection of the members of the mission.

The Centre agrees with one conclusion of the members of the mission to Lebanon and Israel in their recent report to the UN Human Rights Council that the deleterious impact on the civilian population from unexploded submunitions in southern Lebanon was to be expected:
ويتفق المركز مع أحد استنتاجات أعضاء البعثة إلى لبنان وإسرائيل الوارد في تقريرهم الأخير إلى مجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة بأن الأثر الضار على السكان المدنيين الناجم عن الذخائر الصغيرة غير المنفجرة في جنوب لبنان، هو أمر كان متوقعاً:

In this context, it calls upon the Alliance of Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Congo/Zaire and others concerned in the region to cooperate fully with the recently established United Nations investigative mission by ensuring unimpeded access to all areas and sites under investigation, as well as the security of the members of the mission.
ويدعو في هذا السياق التحالف وغيره من اﻷطراف المعنية في المنطقة إلى التعاون الكامل مع بعثة التحقيق التي أنشأتها اﻷمم المتحدة مؤخرا، من خلال كفالة وصولها دون أي عوائق إلى جميع المناطق والمواقع الخاضعة للتحقيق مع كفالة أمن أعضاء البعثة.

Practical implementation of resolution 1997/58 confirmed the necessity of requesting that the Government, in this case of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, undertake concrete measures to ensure the protection of the members of the mission as a whole and of experts accompanying the mission in particular.
وأكد التنفيذ العملي للقرار ٧٩٩١/٨٥ ضرورة أن يُطلب من الحكومة، وهي في هذه الحالة بالذات، جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، الاضطلاع بتدابير محددة لتأمين حماية أعضاء البعثة ككل والخبراء المرافقين للبعثة بصفة خاصة.

Resolution 9/18, on follow-up to resolution S-3/1: human rights violations emanating from Israeli military incursions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the shelling of Beit Hanoun, recommended that the report of the high-level fact-finding mission on Beit Hanoun should be considered by the General Assembly with the participation of the members of the mission.
وقال إن القرار 9/18، وهو متابعة للقرار دإ-3/1: انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان الناشئة عن الإغارات العسكرية الإسرائيلية في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة والقصف المدفعي لبلدة بيت حانون، يوصي بأن تنظر الجمعية العامة في تقرير بعثة تقصي الحقائق رفيعة المستوى عن بيت حانون بمشاركة أعضاء البعثة.

The Permanent Council of OAS adopted resolution CP/RES.633 (995/94) condemning and strongly repudiating this new illegal action by the de facto authorities in Haiti and holding them responsible for the security and personal safety of the members of the mission.
