The Commission, in resolution 1997/1, requested the Chairperson of the Task Force on Basic Social Services for All of the Administrative Committee on Coordination (ACC) to disseminate the results of the Technical Symposium on international migration to Member States and other relevant parties and to report back to the Commission at its 1999 session.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), which has made the implementation of chapter 10 of the Programme of Action a major component of its programme of work, was responsible for the implementation of the Technical Symposium on International Migration and Development (see para. 39 below).
